[Part4]: Visit to Paris

Visit to Paris

London-Paris route: Victoria Train Station[London] – Port of New Haven-English Chanel-Dieppe Port– Lazare Train Station[Paris].

With the advice of Encik Mustaffa Ismail, H. Aminurrashid relied heavily on Metro (the subway train) to minimise his expenses while visiting Paris.

Anywhere in Paris, he observed that people use the Chanel fragrance.

At Arc de Triomphe or Place de lEtoil he observed simpang duabelas – the twelve junctions.

After a few obstacles (rain, low visibility) H. Aminurrashid managed to climb to top of Eiffel Tower for a couple of minutes before descending to second level(500 feet) to get a view of the whole of city of Paris.

Avenue des Champs-Elysees
modern Paris(Avenue Foch, Napoleon Tomb,Palace de la Concorde),
historical Paris (Notredame, Mount Mart, Opera)
The Palace of Versailles
Louvre
H. Aminurrashid was also shown the house of Mata Hari [pp228], the German WW2 spy of Dutch descent who stayed for a few years in a couple of parts of Indonesia .

Trivia:
*According to H. Aminurrashid, many Malay songs were adopted by the West; Terang Bulan, Bengawan Solo, Rayuan Pulau Kelapa, etc.
