Morning marathon

One thing I like about driving early in the morning is that I can listen to the radio. I think many people listen to the radio while in their car. Back in the comfort of one's home, one prefer to watch TV.

My friend who sometimes hitch a morning ride from me, commented that I'm having a morning marathon. Hopping from one kuliyyah to another, end to end.

At 6.20am, while idling the car, listen to to the Qur'an recital from Radio IKIM. {Some qari recites with wailing voicing, almost like crying. Some surah really give you goosebumps, if you know the meaning! I think I need to learn Arabic. But of course, Qur'an Arabic is different from conversational modern Arabic.The only smattering Arab left in my brain- a remnant of Arabic I picked up from the Al-Azhar-educated handsome boyish ustaz was - Uskut, ya Walad/shut-up boys, Ifranki'/get lost, Ya Banat!/Girls! . Or, maybe I learn those from my classmates?}

At 6.30am, flip to Radio Malaysia Selangor, listen to Santapan Minda. Sometimes an ustaz discuss about something interesting and simulating. Sometimes the other ustaz drone on and on, about something uninteresting.Well, we're only human. Everyone one of us have one of those days, anyway.

At 6.45am, jump to RMKL to listen to Ustaz Wan Sohor Bani. {This morning he related on TAQWA: Saidina Umar Al-Khattab (radiallahu anhu)once asked Saidina Ali (Karamallahu wajhah) to tell him about TAQWA. Saidina Ali replied - "it's like walking in the dark night, bare-footed, on a road littered with thorns." You have to tread carefully. What do you do when you mistakenly step on a thorn ? You quickly remove your foot from the threat, and correct your path}

When the clock hit 7.00 am, go back to Radio IKIM. I love Thursday morning series with the Datin-Ustazah who recites and translates many hadith.

I wish I could squeeze in Dr HM Tuah's Motivasi and Azli Paat's Info ICT, but I've almost reach my destination - my work-place. Within the short duration I'll bounce between Hitz and Mix (sorry ERA there's only six button (IKIM,RMKL,RMS,RIMA-for Bapak,Hitz,Mix) in the Kancil to preset) listening to Hoobastank's 'The Reason', Maroon5's 'She will be loved',Disagree's Crumb, even Eminem's 'Slim Shady'-or whatever they're playing on the radio lah.
